Wild rabbits get all the exercise they need, but domesticated rabbits are usually kept in cages and in many situations will not get their needed daily exercise. Rabbits should ideally have about 4 hours of exercise every day, but they may not get that as a pet. A lack of exercise can cause osteoporosis, which is a softening of the bones.
